Day Meetings
Leadership meetings, strategy sessions, board discussions and smaller company days with refreshments, lunch and practical meeting facilities.
Explore meetings →Meet. Retreat. Stay.
Twenty bedrooms, proper food, personal hospitality and space to get some thinking done — without the feel of a conventional conference hotel.
The Psalter is best suited to smaller leadership teams, strategy sessions, board meetings, client dinners, repeat business travellers and project teams who want somewhere with character, food and an actual sense of hospitality.
Use us for the meeting. Stay for dinner. Sleep upstairs. Start again after a proper Yorkshire breakfast.
We build the right format around the job your team actually needs to get done.

Explore meetings →Step away from the office for one or two focused days combining meeting time, food, dinner, bedrooms and breakfast.
Explore retreats →Preferred arrangements for regular company travel, executive visitors, projects and teams working in Sheffield.
Explore corporate stays →Bring meeting space, private guest areas, all 20 bedrooms and the hospitality programme together under one roof.
Explore exclusive hire →A leadership retreat at The Psalter can be shaped as a one-night stay or a two-day programme. The point is to give the team enough structure to be productive and enough hospitality to make people actually want to be there.
The programme below is the sort of retreat we can build for a senior management or leadership team. Timings, food, bedrooms and the amount of meeting time can all be adjusted around the brief.
Lunch can be a working buffet or another agreed format. Where the restaurant service fits the dates, dinner can become part of the retreat rather than an afterthought once the meeting finishes.
Our restaurant can be hired during the day for meetings and business events, generally working best for smaller groups of approximately 4–40 delegates depending on layout.
We can build the day around a straightforward meeting, a working lunch, a leadership session or a longer programme that flows into drinks or dinner.
The advantage of meeting in a hotel with a serious food and drink offer is that the day does not need to end with the projector being switched off.
Depending on the brief, we can discuss working lunches, private dining, client dinners, drinks in the bar or dinner at Tom Lawson at The Psalter. Food can be part of the reason to bring the team together, not simply something dropped outside the meeting room at lunchtime.
For repeat business stays, executive visitors, regular company travel and longer projects in Sheffield, contact us directly. Preferred corporate arrangements may be available depending on your stay pattern, volume and requirements.
With 20 bedrooms, breakfast seven days a week, complimentary Wi-Fi, parking and the bar and restaurant downstairs, The Psalter works particularly well as a regular midweek base.
Working remotely, between meetings or simply need a change of scene? The Psalter is a comfortable place to open the laptop, get through the inbox and spend a few productive hours away from home.
With superfast broadband, coffee on tap, comfortable spaces and the bar open from 8am every day, you can work at your own pace without committing to a formal meeting room.
Stay for lunch, meet a colleague over coffee or turn the working day into dinner and an overnight stay when you need to.
Reliable Wi-Fi for email, video calls, reports and the working day.
The bar is open from 8am every day, so the caffeine supply is never far away.
A comfortable independent hotel and bar rather than another day at the kitchen table.
Meet a colleague, stay for food or combine the working day with an overnight stay.
Not every corporate stay involves a board meeting. We also welcome project teams, engineers, trades and contractors who need comfortable midweek accommodation with straightforward access, parking and somewhere to eat and unwind after work.
For repeat or multi-room requirements, speak to us directly so we can understand the length of the project and build the most sensible company arrangement.

For a leadership retreat, company away day or private corporate gathering that needs more control and privacy, talk to us about taking over the hotel. We can build a proposal around all 20 bedrooms, agreed meeting and guest spaces, refreshments, food, dinner and breakfast.
Rather than publishing one blanket corporate rate, we look at the pattern of business and the type of stay required.
For companies repeatedly sending colleagues or visitors to Sheffield throughout the year.
For project teams, contractors and businesses needing several rooms or a sustained period of midweek accommodation.
For senior visitors where the room, breakfast, food downstairs and a more personal arrival experience all matter.
Give us the dates, approximate numbers and the type of visit you are planning. We will come back to you directly and build the right next step around it.
